400 Rabbits restaurant idea is inspired by the Aztec folklore story of the fermentation gods.
One special evening, the story goes, two gods ‘got it on’ and spawned offspring named the 400 Rabbit Gods (or centzon totochtin). These gods loved to party, drink and get into mischief, and the restaurant is a tasty celebration of these gods and the two best things fermentation has given us – sourdough and beer.
Also worth mentioning are their absolutely fantastic – and criminally underpriced – Negronis: at only £4.5 you can really indulge.
The space was designed by Richardson Studio to be playful, fun and nothing Italian-like in order to stand out from the current pizza market, and it does exactly that!
